Handmade Beach Invitations
If you are looking for a fun homemade party invitation for a beach theme, you will want to consider the message in a bottle. This is a fun and unique way to send your invitation to guests while still creating the handmade party invitation feel.
You will first need to assemble your supplies which include: a plastic or glass bottle, white paper, ribbon, cork, cardboard box, beach sand, shells and any other décor you want in the bottle.
Tip: Be sure to think about what items you want in your bottle but be mindful that if you will be shipping these bottles long distance, you will want them to be as light as possible because shipping weight increases significantly. Also, plastic bottles weigh much less than glass and you will not have to worry about them breaking.
You will first want to put your sand in the bottle; place about 1 inch of sand into the bottom via a funnel or cup. You will them place all the extra items in that you want including gems, shells, starfish and more. Get creative with the items you decide to place in the bottle; after all, these are your handmade Beach party invitations!
Next, print out your invitation on white paper form any computer printer. If you want, you can burn the edges to give it an old look or even stain the paper with tea bags to make it look even older along with the burnt edges. After you are done, roll it up tight and tie it with a ribbon. Be sure the ribbon is secure on the paper roll so it does not slip off. Then, lower the paper invitation into the bottle with the ribbon hanging out of the top, cork it and then cut the ribbon with extra to spare and tie the extra ribbon around the bottle neck.
Tip: You may want to make sure the ribbon stays on the paper using a small clear rubber band.
