Handmade Dance Invitations
Making handmade invitations for a dance party lets you get the fun started early. Start with lightweight card stock and gel pens and markers in a variety of colors. Pick a light colored card stock and a darker one for contrast. Now, depending on how well you draw, you can draw outlines of people dancing or go online, put “silhouettes of people dancing” in a search engine and make a printout of the images that come up. You may need to enlarge them. Use the images as templates for your homemade card. Cut silhouettes out of the darker card stock. Cut your light weight cardstock into a size that will fit your envelope. Most shapes will work but for you handmade card, sticking with rectangular will probably be best. Using a gel pen, draw music notes on various area around the side of the homemade card. Glue the silhouettes to the middle of the invitation and write a good party slogan across the top or bottom.
On the back of the card write to party info and personalize the handmade invitation with your guests’ name. If the dance party will feature songs from a specific era then use the gel pen to write song title from that era on your homemade invitation. Set your invitation aside and turn to the envelope. Use the markers to give the envelopes a customized homemade feel. You can do this by drawing musical notes on the back at on the front bottom left corner. The notes must be out of the way of the address.
