Handmade Disco Invitations
Making handmade invitations for a Disco party will let your imagination soar. Just remember that Disco was glittery and shinny. You want your homemade invitations to relay that feeling. When you think of Disco, you think of the large Disco ball that hung from the ceiling at clubs and dances. With that in mind let’s make handmade disco ball invitations. You will need silver metallic card stock. If you are careful with it, you could use heavy-duty aluminum foil instead. Get black card stock, silver gel pens, a glue stick and black or transparent tape. Your homemade creation will look great in a silver envelop, especially a larger sized one.
Cut the black card stock into round shapes that will fit you envelope. Cut small, about ¼ inch squares from the metallic card stock or heavy-duty aluminum foil. Glue the squares to one side of one of the round black shapes leave a space at the middle of the top. Put a one-inch piece of black or transparent tape at the top middle of the round black shape, and then continue to cover it with the silver card stock or foil, hiding the tape. Using that piece of tape, place a plain black round shape against the back of the one you just covered in sliver and tape the two together. The tape acts like a hinge letting you open the handmade disco ball card. Once you have the entire front covered, cut off any of the silver card stock or foil that extents pass the sides. On the inside of the card use the gel pen to write slogans like “Save the Last Dance”, “Disco Fever” “Disco Forever”. Draw a few small musical notes inside the invitation and write you party info on it. Put you homemade invitation in the silver envelope and “party on”.
