Handmade NFL Football Invitations
Thinking about handmade invitations for your NFL football party? Try making homemade team pennant invitations. They are fun and quick to make. For your handmade pennant you will need wood kabob skewers from most grocery stores, felt in the team colors, makers in the team colors, a glue stick, glitter, transparent tape and medium weight card stock or poster board in either white or a team color. If your team colors include silver or gold, then change the card stock or poster board to silver or gold. In case you can’t find a metallic color card stock or board, stay with the white and get gold or silver ribbon. Your homemade invitation will get the team spirit going for your party.
Cut the card stock or poster board into pennant shapes, elongated triangles. Cut three pennant shapes for each pennant; one large, the second one a 1/4 inch smaller all around and the third a 1/4 inch smaller all around than the second. You need a size that fits your envelope. For this handmade craft try to get larger envelopes’, like 5x7 inches.
Use the three cut pieces of card stock / poster board as templates for the pennant. Using the largest template cut pennant shapes from one color of felt. Using the second largest cut pieces from the second color of felt and using the smallest cut pieces from the third color of felt. If you are using a metallic paper cut the largest pennant shape from it. Glue the pennants so you have all three short sides together. Put the largest on the bottom, then the next largest, then the smallest on top. Cut the wooden skewers into two equal pieces and sand the cut end on each one. Also sand the pointed end of your homemade flag pole down until it is smooth and rounded. Write your party info on the back of your handmade invitation and add some sparkle by putting glue around the writing then sprinkling glitter on it. Let this dry and tape your homemade pennant to the flag pole about 1/8 inch from the rounded top. Put glue on the tape and then glitter to hide it. Put you handmade invitation in an envelope and you’re all ready to address, stamp and send.
