Handmade Patriotic Invitations
Patriotic homemade party invitations are possibly one of the easiest to create. The United States has plenty of proud memories along with those we commemorate on a yearly basis. Patriotic parties are always a hit and usually involve a barbeque and plenty of games. It is a time when friends and family can get together and simply appreciate being an American.
For a Patriotic party invitation, the appropriate colors, needless to say, are red, white and blue. These colors can be assembled like a flag or they can be assembled together in a general grouping. For an invitation, however, flag representation should show up somewhere on it; preferably on the front.
Start with red cardstock and white cardstock strips of paper. Glue a white stripe every other section spacing them evenly to create the stripes on the American Flag. Next, cut out a blue rectangle and glue 50 white stars on it. Finally, attach the blue rectangle in the top left corner to create the complete flag.
A flag can also be created as a cutout or in a scene that is printed out from the computer. This picture can then be mounted on top of cardstock to give it form and definition and then glued onto the cardstock Patriotic party invitation. The rest of the card can be left plain with information or embellished even further with ribbon, glitter and more.
