Handmade Soccer Invitations
Handmade invitations for an Olympics party will make it even more special. This homemade invitation will make a great keepsake that finds its way into many scrapbooks. You will need light colored heavy card stock or poster board, metallic gold, silver, and bronze card stock or poster board. If you can’t find the bronze card stock get brown. You will need narrow blue ribbon, silver, gold, and bronze gel pens. You will also need a glue stick, tape and a black marker. Start by cutting you card stock or poster board into rectangular shapes that will fit in your envelopes. Your handmade invitation will be three medals.
Cut the homemade medals by using anything round and relatively small, like a quarter coin. Cut the medals for you handmade invitations from the gold, silver and bronze card stock or poster board. You need one of each color for each homemade invitation. Cut the blue ribbon into pieces approximately three inches long. Tape two pieces of the ribbon to the back of each handmade medal. Tape them so that the ribbon forms a “V” shape with the point of the “V” taped to the back of the medal. Tape the medal ribbons over the top of the light colored card stock with the medal dangling down the front. Use this order: the silver on the left, the gold in the middle, and the bronze on the right side. The ribbons can overlap in the front. Glue a second piece of heavy card stock over the back of the first to hide the tape.
With the marker write the party info on the back of the homemade invitation. Now, using the gel pens write a large number two on the silver medal, a large number three on the bronze, and your guest’s name on the gold. Match the color gel pen to the color medal.
